This is a pre-authorised amount on a credit or debit card and acts as the insurance excess. In the event of damage during your rental, we can charge up to the amount held as the security deposit.
The security depoist for drivers aged between 21 and 79 (inclusive) is £2,500/€3,000
If the camper was returned in the same condition without damage, the deposit will be released within 28 days to your account. This isn’t a refund so you will not see this as a transaction, just higher funds available at the time it has been processed. If you haven’t seen it after 28 days, please contact your bank.
Yes, we can hold the deposit on a credit or debit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard only.
We can charge for any new damage caused during your hire. It can also be charged for cleaning fees which may apply when your camper is assessed on return.
The insurer is responsible for determining who is a fault for an accident. If you have an accident your deposit will be held until the insurer has confirmed that the 3rd party was at fault. At this point the deposit will be released back to you.
The standard deposit is £2500/€3000 and can be reduced by purchasing one of our liability options. We have a range of liability options available. Read more about it here.
